TitleBar Pro

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: TitleBar Pro 0.3

Format: Win OS

Description: Addon script that will allow you to define the information to show in the titlebar of mIRC. Possible options include: Date, time, idle time, server, lag, online time, away status, record uptime, host, free diskspace, nickname, uptime and network. (phew, I hope I didn't forget anything :). You also get to define your own information. The readme file is well written with installation instructions, contact information and most importantly an explanation of all the various functions of the script. The options are configured through two dialog windows. The second one (Preferences) currently only allows you only to modify the update frequency of the titlebar. From what I can tell, the addon appears to work for the most part. However, there are a few problems with it. For example, if you are already connected to a network, there are things that it will not be able to show you. E.g.: your away status. In addition, unless you have turned on the mIRC online timer, the information for "Online Time" does

TuS Xdcc Server

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: TuS Xdcc Server 1

Format: Win OS

Description: An addon to serv files using xDCC. xDCC is one of file serving methods which allows you to select which file (or pack) to download using a ctcp command. The server can serv more than 1 pack at a time. This addon is pretty configurable. You can set the send slot, queue slot, max get/queue per user, max and min cps, timeout, add pack, del pack, edit the description of a pack and some more. The addon itself included a readme file, which provides enough information for you to load the script and how to use it. But I would suggest that the author add more tiny details about the settings for that addon. Settings are done within a dialog. In my opinion, the dialog is a bit messy, everything are fit in within a dialog window. I would suggest the author to split things out, and put them nicely into tabs. Like the add packs, delete packs things in one tab, and the other settings will be in another tab. I think it would be neater :o) To start serving, you can go to menubar or channel popups to get in the

Tyrant Socket Chat

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: Tyrant Socket Chat

Format: Win OS

Description: Just a little addon that opens up a 'ChatSocket' between you and another user. Documentation provided has installation instructions, but no real information on the addon itself. This might be difficult for newbies to understand :) Start the addon by typing either: /schat.host to host a chat, or /schat.connect to connect to someone who is already hosting with this addon. The addon's coding is pretty clean. There are no excessive /'s or halts, that I can see, anywhere. The idea behind the addon is nice, and it's original. You can be on different IRC servers and chat with a friend. There are, however, a few minor bugs here. Inside of the dialog, using the CLIENT method, there is no error checking in the 'Ping Remote' or 'Close Server' events. Clicking Ping Remote with no active socket responds with this error: * /sockwrite: 'ty*' no matching sockets (line 78, socket-chat.mrc). Clicking to 'Close Server' with no active socket relays this error message: * /sockwrite: 'ty*' no matching sockets (line

Tyrant Spy Client

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: Tyrant Spy Client 1.3

Format: Win OS

Description: An addon that allows other clients to telnet to your IP and "spy" on all of the chat events that you encounter in mIRC. The script works well, and it has plenty of features; it allows you to monitor all client messages, allows all of the clients to talk amongst themselves through their telnet connections, lets you kick or ban certain IP's as well as sending messages to individual clients, and it lets you take part in the telnet chat. The script comes with a detailed readme file that instructs the user on installation and use of the script, as well as detailed contact information, information about chages from previous versions, and what we can expect in later versions. The script was straightforward and quite easy to use. I encountered a few bugs; whenever I tried to send a message to the connected clients through the mIRC window that the script opened, the message would go through, but I would get an error of '@servmessages No such nick'. Also, if I didn't specify a port to listen on the scri

Ultrasnooze Away System

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: Ultrasnooze Away System 1.8

Format: Win OS

Description: A powerful dialog based away system, complete with paging, logging, themes and nick changing features. Nickserv support is included. Its feature list also includes silent away, quick away, and an unload function - very nice. I was very impressed by the fact that this script came with its own help file, which helped clear a few things up for me. The other thing that impressed me was the dialog used to configure everything: It is small, tabbed and everything seems to fit in quite nicely. My only gripe would be when I have to enter numbers (e.g. time between away messages) that I had to enter a number using my keyboard, not from a drop down list (which would have been nice). There were no major issues when using this script, though twice nickserv messaged me telling me I was using the old /msg method, and I should try /nickserv. None of the themes provided really took my taste - but that's just me. One other minor bug I encountered was if I went into the advanced options while I was 'back', then
