SPR Jukebox

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: SPR Jukebox 8.01

Format: Win OS

Description: Very impressive multimedia script, mainly intended for mp3s though. It has a wide array of features from @Locator/@FInd to statistics, customizable colours/themes/messages, multiple directories support, configurable list of channels, list of file extensions to watch out for, settings for minimum cps, netsplit or server hop timelimit all to the more traditional number of slots for each user, and more. This is by far the most advanced mp3/multimedia script that I have come across. It has extensive documentation, both through text file and its own windows help file. All of the options are easily configurable to very neat and easy to understand dialog windows. The addon also echos information to the active window, such as the statistics and any other relevant information. The script seems to work very well for the most part. It's very configurable which is one of its greatest points but may be a bit confusing at the very beginning. However, the documentation is always available to give you a hand.

ScanIP

Title: ScanIP

Format: Win OS

Description: A simple IP scanner for a channel that will output all matching addresses & wildcards to the active window. The usage of it is: /scanip . If you are already on the channel, no need to type in the channel name. You cannot scan channels that you are not on, the author didn't mention this, and the script will error out if you try to do it: * Scanning #TestChannel; #FunChat No Match!. But, at least it didn't cause internal mIRC Errors ;-) There aren't excessive /'s or halts anywhere. I noticed

Scramble

Title: Scramble 1.1

Format: Win OS

Description: MP3 addon script with dialog interface. Uses mIRC v5.8's built-in mp3 support. Pretty complete readme file with setup instructions and various notes on the script. Version information as well. The addon is easy to install, but requires you to bind the addon to a function key. This option should be optional in the future perhaps, since some people have already pre programmed all their function keys. The addon appears to work just fine for the most part and the dialog window is clean and quite easy to understand. There are one or two bugs though. First of all, the addon gives an error message when you first install it. The author forgot to put an echo command or such in front of one of his sentences. Also, no default message is given with the script (for the mp3 playing announcement). Therefore, the script will give errors left and right until you enter something. While the ability to change the message is certainly nice, the author should have provided a default message. There are a few other s

Scripted Agent Stupid Humor

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: Scripted Agent Stupid Humor 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Addon script that basically consists of making microsoft agents tell jokes. In my personal opinion, a lot of those jokes are tasteless and not funny at all. The addon does include a readme file and upon first loading, it also gives you the list of commands that you can use for it. The addon works well from what I can, also unloading itself if it doesn't detect any Microsoft Agents. I didn't run into any problems while running the script. Appearantly, the script has the agent appear every once in a while to tell a joke and then to dissappear. There is also a short starting sequence at the beginning to introduce the script. The coding is fine, eventhough I would recommend the use of "return" instead of "halt" and local aliases instead of the "normal" ones. The alias and variable names were very well chosen.

Search Addon Beta 2

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: Search Addon Beta 2

Format: Win OS

Description: An automatic "age-gender-location" script (ASL), so that if anyone asks for your asl in private message it'll automatically tell them. The script came with a brief documentation, and was easy to install. Once installed it pestered me for heaps and heaps of info (which I guess is what people what to know). If you want to change any of the info at any time you can do so via the nicklist or menubar popups. There really isn't much to this type of script, but it does work. I wish it would send all the information as notices (to not reset my idle time) and that instead of sending 5-6 lines it would only send maybe 2. In terms of coding, there was a bracket mismatch and use of / which isn't needed in remotes. The other coding issue that I picked up was that the person repeated code in his script (two different popup definitions for the same popups). So overall the script does perform its duties, but underneath the hood is a bit of a mess. I believe that if the code was tidied up and a bit more practi
