Hover Bomber (H-Bomb) is a new game due for release soon from Aurora Works,
based loosely on the Bomberman game. It, however brings the game up to date
with some excellent graphics and some modernizing of the gameplay.
The game will offer fast multi-player action for upto four players. These
players can either be all in the same room, 2 using joysticks and 2 using the
keyboard or spread around the world playing via the TCP/IP internet support
that will be included. People moan about the lack of multiplayer internet games
for the Amiga, well here is a game that could go someway to stopping that
moaning.
The game will be coming on CD-ROM only which is going to allow the authors to
make sure the game looks and sounds as good as it plays. The game will run in
256 colours on a 640x240 screen throughout on AGA Amigas and 16 bit (65536
colours) on a 640x480 screen on CyberGFX equiped Amigas.
The game when released will come with 20 different playfields, with the option
to create your own using the supplied editor, you will also be able to create
graphics, music and sounds with this editor.
Sound has not been forgotten either with support for the AHI system giving 4-32
channels on native Amiga systems, there will also be some sound card support.
The music in the game is being produced by some excellent musicians that are
renounded in the Amiga community.
Now comes the bad news, the game requires quite a meaty Amiga. The AGA version requires 4Meg extra Fast RAM while the CyberGFX version requires 6Meg extra Fast RAM on top on 2Meg Video RAM. Both versions require at least an 030/25Mhz and recommend a 040/25Mhz. The game is, however, completly system friendly and also offers Multi-tasking support.
The full game is due in September with a demo version hopefully being available at the end of July....
