NO SUMMER HOLIDAYS FOR LEEDS' LUCAS
LEEDS UNITED v WIMBLEDON

LUCAS RADEBE won't be getting much rest even after completing Leeds' season against Wimbledon. The man who skippered South Africa to the runners-up spot in this year's African Nations Cup flies out to Johannesburg on Monday for a four-day training camp which starts on Thursday before a World Cup friendly on the 20th, quickly followed by a five-day spell in Argentina, another five days in Germany and then finally onto the World Cup finals.

He said: It has been a hectic season and it's still not over yet. But I'm beginning to feel it now. It has been worth it because in the games with South Africa I have been given the captaincy and that looks good on any CV, while Leeds are in next season's UEFA Cup.

"I have not played in European competition before. I was with Leeds when they were last in the UEFA Cup in 1995, but I never got to play because I was injured. Hopefully I will avoid that next season, which I am already looking forward to. It's going to be very special for me, even though I will probably be very knackered. With South Africa's schedule and the World Cup in between, I will have to try and get as much rest as possible. It's going to be very, very difficult, but I'm sure it will all be worthwhile.''

Austrian international defender Martin Hiden is manager George Graham's only doubt after damaging a hamstring in training and will undergo a late fitness check. If he is out, he will be replaced by either Lucas Radebe or Gary Kelly. Portuguese midfielder Bruno Ribeiro (groin) and Dutch defender Robert Molenaar (knee) are definitely out.

Wimbledon finish their campaign without Republic of Ireland defender Kenny Cunningham, ruled out with the groin injury he picked up against Bolton, but with the praise of Leeds boss George Graham, who said: They amaze people every year with their achievements and constantly work on a shoestring budget, so I have nothing but admiration for them. But that doesn't mean I don't want to beat them on Sunday. People who know me will tell you I want to win every game, even friendlies, and I want to finish as high as we possibly can to end what has been an excellent season for us."

SOUTHAMPTON v TOTTENHAM

CHRISTIAN GROSS won't promise Tottenham veteran Gary Mabbutt the chance to say a proper farewell to the fans he has served for the last 16 years. The 36-year-old defender starts his final game for Spurs on the bench with his manager insisting: The priority will be a victory to move us up the table. But if there is the opportunity, I will give Gary the chance to say goodbye.
Former Spurs boss Terry Venables wants Mabbutt to join his new coaching staff at Crystal Palace, but the veteran defender believes he can play on in the Premiership, Japan's J-League or America's Major League Soccer. He said: "I've been fully fit all this season after working hard last summer to get back after a broken leg and I still enjoy playing. I have a couple of options to weigh up at end of the season."
The match will also be Jurgen Klinsmann's last in English football, but while the Spurs pair are looking back, Southampton midfielder Matthew Oakley has his sights firmly on the future and hopes to use the Premiership finale to cement his place in England's Under-21 squad for summer's Toulon tournament. The 20-year-old has been named in the provisional 24-man squad which will be trimmed by six players next week and feels a call-up would be the perfect end to the season. He said: I've had a great season and the chance to end it by playing in Toulon is particularly exciting.
Added Oakley's manager Dave Jones: Matthew has been unlucky that the injuries he has suffered have all come at the wrong time. I can't believe he would have been overlooked by the England set-up because he has been one of our most consistent players and he shows tremendous maturity for someone of his age."

BARNSLEY v
MANCHESTER UNITED

CRYSTAL PALACE v SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

AS THE Premiership prepares to say goodbye to Barnsley, Alex Ferguson is claiming Tykes boss Danny Wilson should have been a candidate for the Carling Manager of the Year award. He's done a fabulous job and I've really enjoyed having Barnsley in the League, said the Manchester United chief, whose side visit Oakwell tomorrow.
''At the start of the season they got a few hammerings - one from us and one from Chelsea - but they eventually got to grips with the League, got better and better and were a bit unlucky not to stay up.''
Barnsley's Jan Aage Fjortoft has committed himself to staying, but says the club must hang on to striker partner Ashley Ward, a £3 million transfer target for Aston Villa and Celtic. He is the one player we cannot afford to let go, insisted the Norwegian.
Barnsley report no injury problems and have defender Chris Morgan and striker Georgi Hristov available after long suspensions, while Ferguson will start want-away defender Henning Berg to improve the Norwegian international's match fitness ahead of the World Cup and give full League debuts to Michael Clegg and Philip Mulryne. Raimond van der Gouw will continue in place of Peter Schmeichel, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is suspended.

TERRY VENABLES will be watching his new side say goodbye to the Premiership tomorrow before starting his Palace revolution on Tuesday. Venables is expected to bring in his former QPR and Barcelona sideman Alan Harris as number two, wants to make Gary Mabbutt first team coach and is pondering an approach for another Spurs misfit, David Howells.
Venables will be without Valerian Ismael for the start of next season after the French defender tore ligaments against West Ham in midweek and Republic of Ireland Under-21 wing back Tony Folan will deputise in Sunday's final fixture. Central defender Hayden Mullins, who featured along with Folan in last season's FA Youth Cup final side against Leeds, could be on the substitutes' bench.
Wednesday have five starters - Ian Nolan, Jon Newsome, Niclas Alexandersson, Petter Rudi and Goce Sedloski out with long-term injuries, but fans will get another look at the new Italian strike partnership of Francesco Sanetti and Paolo Di Canio. Insisted the former Celtic striker: If we start well next season, we can battle for a place in the UEFA Cup. I want to compete for a trophy next season.''
