News has reached me that Direct Software, the Amiga only games supplier/developer have gone out of business. The Northampton based company cease trading due to apparant financial difficulties. Their sister company Amiga Serious who have only recently started trading have also gone out of business.

This news comes at a bad time for all Amiga owners, just as things were beginning to look up the biggest supplier of Amiga games in the UK die. Direct Software had big plans and were intending to open up more stores in the Uk and even in Europe, sadly this will never happen now. As for there 'Power Amiga' project, well, this too now looks like it will never see the light of day, it was die to be shown at the World of Amiga show but never was.

Many of you may be wondering what is happening with the games that they had in development. Well these have been picked up by a company called 'Alive Mediasoft' who also have a few other surprises in the pipeline, for more information on this please read the seperate news story.
