My Amiga

Many people keep asking me why I still use my Amiga..after all..I need a PC to do Wordprocessing, DTP, 2D and 3D art, Image processing etc...as far as they know, the Amiga is still a bog-standard A500 with 512k RAM..and can only play games..can't use CD-ROM, use comms, harddrives, printers..blah blah.. (This is more likely due to lack of advertising on the miggy's owners' side..).
But why the hell should I pay several thousand quid to do what my Amiga can do better at a mere portion of the price? I shouldn't, and that's why I don't. I've tried many different aspects of computing on PeeCees..and I can deffinately say that it hasn't been anywhere near as good as on my "puny" A1200..this is even more noticable when using Internet software. Despite the fact that the PeeCee is now regarded as the machine to use for Internet access..all the software I tried was not a patch on the many Amiga SHAREWARE or FREEWARE titles. For example...AmIRC is miles ahead of mIRC, not only in being ALOT easier to use, but also because it has many more features, and is overall a much friendlier system. Nutscrape also is still far behind IBrowse..ok so Nutscrape does all the fancy Java crap..but IBrowse at least shows web pages properly, or gives you the option to..
