Subject: access(2) is ambiguous
Package: manpages
Version: 1.5-1
The access(2) manpage fails to state clearly that if more than one
access type is requested the call will fail and return an error code
if any of the access types requested fails (rather than succeeding if
any of them succeeds).
It also doesn't mention clearly enough that if pathname is a symlink
the check refers to the file referenced by the symlink (as well as the
directories involved in getting there and getting to the symlink).
Ian.
