When I put my X server into the lowest mode that xf86config generated
for me the mouse cursor behaves oddly.
The cursor appears on the screen at a different location to the one
the X server thinks it's pointing at. The distance from the top of
the screen to the visible cursor is half the distance to from the top
of the screen to the logical position of the cursor. I can't get the
cursor to move vertically beyond halfway down the visible screen
(presumably because XF86_S3 thinks it's already at the bottom).
This makes the mouse cursor nearly unusable in this mode, of course.
Furthermore, the cursor is squashed vertically by a factor of two.
(All the other display on the screen is at the correct aspect ratio).
I have an S3/924-based Orchid Fahrenheit 1280. This may be a bug in
my video card, in which case a workaround option in the config file
would be nice; however, I haven't had any similar problems before so I
suspect the X server.
Here is my XF86Config (with comments and some blank lines stripped
out).
Ian.
