From: CD Rasmussen <cdr@sme.siemens.com>
Package: x11/xbase
Version: 3.1.2-4
Problem Description:
If the X server has a problem starting, xdm dies with a general
protection 0000. (Sounds like Microsoft windows doesn't it?)
I can supply more info to the maintainer if needed.
Expected behavior:
XDM should exit with a non-zero status and pass the diagnostics
from the X server to the console or print the name of the log file
the diagnostics were written to.
Procedure to reproduce:
Change the VertRefresh to 2--50 in the X config file. This will
introduce a syntax error that causes the X server to fail.
Thank you,
