I cant exactly remember what the R5 root disk put in the hosts file, but I'm
pretty sure it was just my hostname? God knows, but in any case I'd think
that the local LAN and the machines that are connected on it would be the the
ones that should go in there... Both machines (orion and stargate) output
fine with the command 'hostname -f'.

/etc/hosts
------------------------------------------------------------
127.0.0.1	localhost

203.8.164.0	towernet.tower.com.au	towernet
203.15.138.0	mastnet.tower.com.au	mastnet

203.8.164.1	orion.tower.com.au	orion tower.com.au
203.8.164.2	stargate.tower.com.au	stargate star
203.8.164.3	isdn-gate.tower.net	cisco tower-gw isdn
203.8.164.4	comet.tower.com.au	comet
------------------------------------------------------------

/etc/host.conf (just in case - dont forget I run NIS)
------------------------------------------------------------
order hosts,bind,nis
multi on
------------------------------------------------------------

If you need DNS setups as well, you need only ask - but I doubt that's
relivant.

Can you send us the hosts file? I'd like to see what the root disk put
there when you configured your system.

My system didn't do that, by the way.

	Thanks

Probobly the name server - works fine on both my machines. But we'll see what
the maintainer says first I guess :)

New bug report received and forwarded.

Your message didn't have a Package: line at the start (in the pseudo-header following the real mail header), or didn't have a psuedo-header at all.

This makes it much harder for us to categorise and deal with your problem report; please ensure that you say which package(s) and version(s) the problem is with next time. Some time in the future the problem reports system may start rejecting such messages.
