I realize these are pre-release, I was doing testing on a spare machine just to see what was different. Upon completing the installation process (including the stuff done automatically on first login as root), I happened to examine the /etc/group file and found that it seems to be a concatenation of the template /etc/passwd and /etc/group. I have not tried this a second time to confirm the problem, will do that tomorrow morning, 9/17. The one thing I did that was not "by-the-book" was that I did not create a user account when first prompted (after logging in as root) because I prefer to edit /etc/adduser.conf to not create a group for each user first. For experienced users, this seems like a not-unreasonable idea. Cheers, Mike. -- "Cigarettes, ice cream, figurines of the Virgin Mary."
