This bug has just bitten me again.

Could Something be Done, please ?

(This message was, I think, lost the first time around. If this is
the second copy you see let me know ASAP at iwj10@thor.cam.ac.uk, as
it means that some other message was lost.)

This bug appears still to be present. I've discovered that it doesn't
happen if I say `vga=normal' on the LILO prompt. Usually I use `3',
which is 132x43.

Subject: `setfont' screws up my console display

Package: kbd
Version: 0.90-3

Firstly, the call to `setfont' completely destroys the character set,
so that I can't see anything any more. `setfont' does not appear to
be necessary; I suggest we don't call it by default.

Secondly, the package has somehow forgotten that I wanted a UK
keyboard map. I had to edit /etc/rc.boot/console to change this.

Thirdly, the conffiles incorrectly lists /etc/init.d/console rather
than /etc/rc.boot/console. This means that if I reinstall I'll wipe
out my changes.

Ian.
