PACKAGE: libc
VERSION: 4.6.27
PACKAGE_REVISION: 5

The following bug seems to stem from a bug in libtermcap.a.
If TERM contains a terminal name not in /etc/termcap,
tgetflag("hc") segfaults.

Subject: Bug#1043: less segmentation faults with unknown TERM

Package: less
Version: 290

When less is invoked with TERM set to an unknown terminal type, it
segmentation faults. strace say it does some setting up, reads in
/etc/termcap, closes it, and dies.

Example:

 bash# echo foo >bar
 bash# TERM=unlisted less bar
 Segmentation fault
 bash# TERM=console less bar
 foo
 bar (END)

I am using debian 0.93R4 (I think. Let me know if you think this is
important.) with a 1.2.1 kernel, and 4.6.27 libc.

Neil.
