Spam Blocker

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: Spam Blocker 1.2

Format: Win OS

Description: Addon script that blocks and prevents you from seeing spam messages (advertisements) in private. The script works for both newly opened windows and also already open query windows. Basically it will report the spam message to #massads and #schaffis (I don't know what this second channel is) and prevent you from seeing this message while sending a notice back to the individual who wrote it. I find that the script is not picky enough. There are way too many possibilities where the message could be quite legitimate but would still be blocked. The addon also allows you to add people to your user list (level 5) and the script will ignore them. Setup and contact information is provided in the readme file. Easily installed. Oddity: the zip file contains two copies of both remote files of the script. Suggestions: On/Off switch, removal of "halt" since it may interfere with other scripts and perhaps a better choice of userlevel.

SpamKiller

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: SpamKiller 1.2

Format: Win OS

Description: Basic spam stopping addon that allows you to block private messages, except from people that you allow. I had no trouble getting the addon to work. The menus were all present and easy to follow. The problem was menus may not have been the way to go with the addon. Dialogs might have been a better choice, but it's really a personal one. There were problems with getting the wave file to work, because it was just trying to play the wave file from the main mIRC directory, where I did 'not' extract the addon. For reference, you should extract the contents of the zip file into your main mIRC directory so that way errors such as this will not happen. The spam killer did work for the most part. I didn't get any /notice msg's in my screen when a user was spamming because they are silenced (good). The ignore protection works as well, blocking users for a set amount of time (user specified). The spam kills are logged, and you can view the last 10 kills or view all of the kills. They are date stamped as w

SphooServer

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: SphooServer 1.2

Format: Win OS

Description: This is a full-fledged fileserver script. It contains a number of options such as different colours schemes, choice between leech, file ratio or bytes ratio mode, the ability to kick/ban people from your fileserver, an announcement mode, ability to set your welcome message, ability to set the usual fileserver options, logging options, settable channels for the fileserver, etc. First comment right off the bat, I'm quite impressed with certain aspects of the script. All the coding is contained in a single remote file which is huge. In fact, I had to change my mIRC editor so that it would fit. Actually, that's a bad point: the author should have modified the script to be in several files for easy viewing. The documentation is extensive. In addition to a *.txt file with setup instructions, the author also included a *.hlp file and helpful comments in the dialogs of the addon itself. Everything is set out with an intimidating main dialog window where you get to set your options. At the bottom of th

SphooWEB HTTPd

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: SphooWEB HTTPd 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Addon that allows you to setup your own webserver through your ip (you will be able to access it via http://iphere - example: http://123.456.78.90). The author included an extensive readme file with a description of how the script works, its different capabilities, how to use it, known bugs, etc. The script itself is easily accessable through popups (as the addon itself will tell you when you first install the script) and is supported through dialog windows. You will be obliged to specify the directory of your choice (in which the HTML files are located). It will use your mIRC directory as the default one. The default html file, usually index.htm(l), is also left up to you. If there are none to be found, the script will simply give you a list of all the files in the directory. You may specify your email if the person hops onto a page that doesn't exist. There's also the ability to create aliases and redirectors, all very nice ideas. For the script to be on, you have to keep the dialog window o

StatMan99

Category: Networking, IRC Tools, mIRC Addon Scripts

Title: StatMan99 1

Format: Win OS

Description: Nice mIRC addon that allows to generate statistics and keep track of channels. Dialog interface. Has a number of extra options such as the loading/saving of profiles, auto-refresh at specified intervals, a custom nicklist with a number of commands at its disposal (such as adding/removing from notify, etc.) and even a webserver. The documentation is quite complete. There is a standard text file with setup instructions and also a windows help file. You can easily start using the addon by looking into the channel popups. The dialog has two modes: detailed and not. The non-detailed mode gives you the more standard information such as the number of users, ops, voices, opers, people set to away and their percentage. It also includes the average hop count, which is more unusual. The webserver is probably the most unconventional option in the script. It allows for frequent updates and even a chatstream which enables you to view the conversation/events in the channel exactly at the time of occurrence.
