Quake on the Amiga??? A couple of months ago you would have thought not, but now thanks to the work of MAX of DC we are now able to play it on our Amigas....

How, you may be asking, well.....Apparently the sources of AlphaX quake were left laying around on an FTP server somewhere and someone happened to come across these sources, these sources then fell into the hands of MAX of Digital Corruption, the rest is history....

The game is exactly the same as quake on the PC, and to actually play it you need all the grafix files etc. of the PC version. Luckily enough these files are available in the Shareware version which is easily available on the net (It is however 9Mbs in size!). Once you have this all you need to do is download the Amiga binarys, and your away. These again are quite easy to come across at the moment (An address is at the bottom of this page).

As I write this the Amiga version is upto 0.31, as you can tell by the version number it is still in a very early stage of development, and there is still a lot of code that needs to be Amigaized. Due to this it is still quite slow on even the fastest of Amigas, it is, however, being improved all the time and I'm sure the speed will be greatly improved.

Just to wet your appitite here is a screenshot of Quake:-

I guess by now you wanna now where the hell you can get this from well heres a few places to get the files you need:-
