Breed 96 - Review

Breed 96 is a fantastic strategy game. It almost a cross between Civilisation, Dune2 and Sim City. It is a fight among four different races (you can play any of them) and the goal is to completely colonize your planet and to get enough forces to overcome other races.

Just like in Settlers or Populous also the other races will try their best to grow and fortify and to overcome you and conquer your planet, but, differently from the games mentioned above, you can strike up alliances and trade with other races, and to join your forces to fight a common enemy or to be helped when you are under enemy's fire.

The game start with a empty planet, where you have to build all your cities, to advance your race and your technology (the option of research is simply a genial idea). Later, you will have to develop relations between other races and you will begin discovering new planets.

While your eyes are pointed to the stars, your centers will continue to grow even faster, and you'll need to provide commerce centers and police to avoid too many problems to the citizens.

Breed 96 is a great game, well structured, well planned and very enjoyable. It is a shareware game and I strongly suggest you to try this masterpiece and to register.

Here there are a few screen shoots of the game.
