Lightwave Tutorial (Parte 3)

First of all, load Modeler, select BOX and NUMERIC and insert 10 in SEGMENTS. Modify with DRAG option all points we want to be random on all axes. Assign ROCK SURFACE to all the object, pressing POLYGON and SURFACE. Copy the object to create a box and save it all.

Go to Lightwave, load up the object and pos the CAMERA and LIGHT exactly in front of the object. Create the KEY and render it all. We have created the main block.

Now, load inside Lightwave as background an object similar to mountains (DEM are good) Load blocks groups and pos them, as we like, very distant from our mountains. These blocks, copied some times, will be used to create the path for our player. Now pos CAMERA and LIGHT in front of them, but slightly upward of the horizon line. Render it all. Obtained effect is beautiful and easy to create, as you can see in the demo picture. Adding new blocks, as described in next issues, you can have a great variety of backgrounds. In the next issue we will discuss about:

- Blocks creating

- Different ways to create backgrounds.

- We'll create second level of our game.
