Amiga, the Phoenix

Amiga has been bought again. A new step, a new chapter which could decrease users' reasons, users that with determination and motivation kept on believing in this computer and continued developing on this platform even more discredited. At least until today.

In a first time, even I felt myself weak and weary from these news, arrived unexpected, but further news convinced me about a simple thing : Amiga will rise again. As the phoenix from ashes, Amiga will return to its original splendor. Personally, I have never been impressed by the "power" and "flexibility" of today's "multimedia machines" : games such as DOOM, are fast, new Pentium processors should have great performances, but when you try to use them professionally, you'll fight again an old and static Operating System, obsolete and full of error, also very bad errors. Working on machines of such kind is both frustrating and limiting, while on my Amiga 4000, a three years old machine, I can still work out wonders not even imaginable on PC.

When I say "rise", I do intend that Amiga will return to be considered, valued and bought by people, who'll find again a good quality/price ratio with fabulous features. How the VIScorp president says, in next days you'll hear uninformed voices completely wrong against Amiga and its situation, but do not worry : if Amiga arrived safe here, remaining a good and very valuable all-around computer for professional applications, surely it will be also able to pass through this moment. At VIScorp there are some ex Commodore engineers, such the co-authors of Exec (heart of pre-emptive multitasking operating system) and of AmigaDOS. Just this should be an enough guarantee of a quick and sure developing. Amiga will rise as a phoenix. And that moment is not very far. Begin keeping your money to buy new models : RISC and new chips audio and video are not so far.
