Lightwave Tutorial

In our Amiga Blast issues, we'll learn how to create 3D worlds with Lightwave. This powerful program is perhaps one of the best actually sold.

In this first issue we will talk about how to create Logos for demos, WWW Pages and Video Titling.

What You Need:

Lightwave Program

( Modeller and LightWave )

Main Commands Knowledge

( Extrude, Surfaces, Text. )

Once started Modeller and entered in TEXT option, write the word desired (in our case "AMIGA BLAST").

Go to MULTIPLY menu (third menu starting from right) and select Extrude. Inside surfaces window, set the Extruding level.

Now select with the Polygon option just the upper part of our message and set Surface called "WORD"

Done this procedure, save this object and go to the Layout.

In LightWave load up the object and start to set camera for the desired snapshot. Go to Surfaces and set desired surfaces both to "WORD" and "DEFAULT". In our case, set "Rippling GOLD" to "WORD" and "Silver" to "DEFAULT".

Now set the lights. Select Lights and spot option with Lens Flare activated.

Position light in the middle of the sign and target it against the camera. Create the key and save the scene.

Let's Render!!!
