Some exciting features of MegaloSound include:

High Speed Sampling

Megalosound allows a phenomenal sampling rate of 70,937 Hertz in mono and 39,409 Hertz in Stereo on a standard A500 - if you own an A1200 or higher/faster you can attain rates of up to 84KHz in mono and 56KHz in stereo. You may sample Left, Right, Stereo or in Mono, which is a new feature that combines the left and right channels into one signal so that you don't lose any sound data. You can also filter the sound in real-time and then combine the data to give better sound quality for the lower sampling rates. There is also a new Multi-Tasking monitoring feature which allows you to hear the incoming sound from the sampling cartridge while you are using Megalosound

Direct-to-Disk Sampling

Built into Megalosound is the option to sample direct to disk which allows anyone with a fast enough device to take enormous samples with ease. You are no longer limited by memory! Sampling speeds are up to 21KHz stereo and 28KHz mono on a standard A1200 - rates will very depending on the speed and fragmentation level of your hard disk. Now you can save entire songs directly onto your hard disk! WOW!

Extensive Special Effects

An outstanding feature of Megalosound, these powerful effects menus allow access to over 20 special effects in addition to all the effects that are built into the main editing panel. Exciting special effects include : Variable Low Pass and HighPass Filters, Variable Bass and Treble Boost, Brightness Boost, Echo, Reverb, Flange, Phaser, Modulation, Distortion, Chorus, Portamento and re-pitch. There is the option to apply many of the changes in real-time to allow you to emulate special effects hardware. All samples can be saved in raw or standard IFF format.

Many Extras

Comprehensive print facilities include a waveform print-out with an optional grid, and complete sample details such as sample length & speed, project name, time/date etc. Other features are cut/copy/paste, magnify, real-time frequency analyzer, sample player etc.

There are many options to set-up how you want the Megalosound program to run. The Config menu includes options such as: Graph Modes Outline, Filled & dotted), Sample Modes (Normal, Fast & Filtered), Effects Editing Modes (Range, Display, Repeat or Waveform) which allow you to set-up where you would like the effects processed. You can choose to enable/disable the undo buffer, completion beeps, speech, grid and much more.
