Versions greater 50 are restricted OEM versions. Versions below 50 are demo releases. RELEASE NOTES Version 5.5 First public beta release Version 5.6 Changed the device, that it will work if NoIDE 1.12 (by Matthew Frost) or a similar "I don't want the Commodore IDE device to mess with my IDE-port" utility is installed. Such an utility will speed up boot time if you don't have any IDE harddrive connected to your A4000 IDE port. The "This is a beta-demo..." requester popped up too early, sorry. Added an installer script (luxury). Added "IsA4000" program used by the installer script (more luxury). Version 5.7 If no IDE Harddisk was connected to the IDE port, the machine could lock. This is fixed now (Reported by Franz-Josef Reichert). Version 5.8 Got the Mitsumi FX-400 to work with interrupts Some cleanup of the code done. Version 5.9 If an IDE-HD was connected and NO CD-Rom present, the device didn't failed to open, which was quite fatal. Added a new strategy to determine, if ATAPI drives issue a pre-DRQ Interrupt. This was previously done with a look-up table, now the drive is "tested". This is more flexible, if new drives hit the market. Got the Chinon CDS-525I to work with interrupts (due to this new method) Enabled interrupt use for the Sony CDU-55E (should work now). However, I can't test if this works, as I no longer have the drive. If the Sony CDU-55E does NOT work (machine hangs), please tell me immediately! Version 5.10 Imporved Interrupt handling, no longer requiring clearing the signal on entry of the SendPacket routine. Version 5.11 Oops! The changes made from 5.9 -> 5.10 were "no good idea(tm)" and caused some system hangs. Version 5.12 Init no longer fails, if no A4000 IDE port found. This speeds up floppy installation of CacheCDFS. Version 5.13 scsi.device fails on open, if an ATAPI CD-Rom is addressed Sony CDU-55E tested, works like a charm! Version 5.14 Beta testing finished. First official/commercial release. OEM version for MLC/Chinon built. Version 5.15 Works better with reqtools.library and other Intuition patches Only Demo & OEM versions were affected Version 5.16 Internal changes Version 5.17 Mitsumi FX-400 did not work with Tandem/AlfaData AT-Bus controllers in A4000/30 and accelerated A2000 systems Version 5.18 a4000_atapi only worked with Kickstart 3.1 or better. Now it works with Kickstart 3.0 and up. Version 6.1 Big rework! a1200_atapi released, works with A600 and A1200 embedded IDE port. SetAtapiSpeed added to squeeze the maximum performance out of your CD-Rom. Allows the use of up to 4 (!!!) devices on the A1200 and A4000 IDE port, e.g., 2 IDE harddisks and 2 CD-Roms. However, a special cable is required to do this. Please contact Hirsch & Wolf for details. AlfaPower and A600 users have to stick with 2 units, sorry. Version 6.2 Fixed spurious interrupt loosing in 2 cable (4 units) mode Version 6.3 Intermediate fixes - mainly to the Chinon OEM version, which didn't always recognize a Chinon drive as a Chinon drive. Version 6.4 Revised to fully comply with ATAPI 1.2 specs. All ATAPI devices which comply with Atapi 1.2 should work, including non CD-Roms (e.g. Tape devices). Removed Elitegroup Vertos from compatibility list - this one doesn't comply with ATAPI specs 1.2. Checking, which devices are connected to the IDE port greatly improved - this should (hopefully) fix the reported problems of "FindCD" hangs. This release is still beta! Version 6.5 Will no longer permit 4 units with A600. This release is still beta! Version 6.6 Intermediate Version 6.7 Checking, which devices are connected to the IDE port changed again - this should (hopefully) fix the reported problems of "FindCD" hangs. This release is still beta! Version 6.8 Merged a4000_atapi and a1200_atapi to a single atapi.device Checking, which devices are connected to the IDE port changed again - this should (hopefully) fix the reported problems of "FindCD" hangs. Removed the "AlfaData" devices (tandemat & ad_atapi) from this release. This release is still beta! Version 6.9 Fixed a bug preventing the CD-ROM to be always recognized Version 7.1 Finally fixed the FindCD hang! Special thanks go to Mike Redrobe for his help! Version 8.1 Mitsumi FX-300 and old FX-400 apparently hangs. This is a bug in the Mitsumi firmware. Added a workaround for this. CD-Rom can be reset on Open, if the device is opened with device flags 1. Version 8.2 Emulates SCSI 6 byte Mode Sense / Mode Select. This is important for some SCSI Audio players and Shapeshifter to work properly. Version 9.1 Decreased heavy CPU load introduced in 8.1 Fixed interrupt race condition on A1200 version Added ATAPI token in device base ATAPI Speed default is now 3 for both A1200 & A4000 SetAtapiSpeed changed to use token. Added ATAPI Speed adjustment to CD32-Emulator PlayCD now disables unused gadgets. Version 9.2 Fixed potential Deadlock in Harddisk Access! Version 9.3 Relaxed checking for valid ATAPI devices. The Vertos/Elitegroup CD-ROM works again!
