This window contains all settings. The left side shows the available effects, the right side the different options for the selected effect. The buttons "Global", "HotKey" and "Modul" switch between the fololowing options: Global ------ Time: The time in minutes and seconds after which the blanker is activated Volume: The volume samples are played with Pri: The priority MaxonMAGIC gets in multitasking Mouse: For mouse acceleration CPU idle: You can define how much CPU time has to be available for the effect to be started. This is useful if the is busy working (e.g. a raytracer). In this case MaxonMAGIC will only open a black screen which won't need any CPU time at all. Hotkey ------ You can define the hotkeys for the main window and for activation of the blanker. Examples are "SHIFT F1", "ALT F3" or "CTRL SHIFT 1". The cycle-gadget "Mouse" lets you choose at which position the mouse pointer is activating the blanker (e.g. top left). Module ------ This lets you change the settings for the active effect, like number of objects or speed. Every effect has two stringgadgets for defining a FTM-song or sample, which are played while the effect works. The gadget "Demo" lets you preview the effect with the actual settings. Audio ===== The gadget "Audio" brings you into a new part of MaxonMAGIC which allows you to define samples for certain system functions and actions. The left side shows the available actions, the right one shows the available samples. The left hand cycle-gadget lets you select one of three modes which define how a sample shall be handled if there is another one already playing: Next sample waits, Next sample cancels, Ignore next sample The two cycle-gadgets below the list of samples let you switch samples on or off and choose if a sample shall be loaded from disk if needed or kept in RAM all the time. Events ------ MaxonMAGIC offers you a lot of events samples can be defined for. The five Gadgets "Actions", "Keys", "Program", "Texts" and "Time" switch between different groups of events. Actions: You can define samples for the system events Alert, ASL-Requester, Auto Requester, Close Screen, Close Window, Disk inserted/removed, Left Mousebutton, Open Screen, Open Window, Right Mousebutton Keys: Samples can be defined for different groups of keys. The samples should not be loaded from disk but be kept in RAM. Program: The list of events will be empty first. You now have to define programs you work with. When starting one of these programs the defined sample will be played. Simply type in the file name of the program in the string-gadget. If don't remember the correct name use the file requester by clicking on the left gadget. After pressing of Return or selecting "Load" in the file requester the program's name is added to the list above. Texts: This part is very similar to the program-part. It lets you define samples for any sort of texts. The sample is played when the text is printed by a program or the system itself. Select the N-gadget, type in the text and press Return. The text will be added to the list above. The sample will also be played if your text is only part of a printed string. Also it is not case sensitive. Time: You can define samples for certain times. The list offers every hour from 1 to 24 (1 am to 12 pm), every hour and quarters of a hour.
