Lottery Master By Delboy Dodson (c) 1995 This program took me a long time to write and I hope you find it useful! If you do, then please consider purchasing the full version which does not have the printer output and automatic checking of winning lines disabled! You also will not get the reminder each time you use the program. Please keep the concept of Shareware alive and do the right thing. Details on getting the full version are at the end of this document. Copying this program for other people is permitted providing ALL the files are copied! 1) REQUIREMENTS: Ideally 1Mb or better (Not Tested On Half Meg) But tested on A500, A1200, A4000. 2) TO USE THIS PROGRAM 1.1) Floppy Users: If you unzipped these files. Copy all the files and directories to a formatted and initialised floppy disk and boot from the disk. 1.2) Hard Drive Users: Copy all the files in the root to a drawer of your choice (Do Not Copy The Directories As They Are Not Needed) NB: The 'lot.dat' file contains all the winning Lottery numbers up to and including the 18th February 1995. Any '.dat' files that are not in the same drawer as the 'Lottery Master' program will be created as empty files when you run the program. >>>> THE MANUAL <<<< When you run the program you will see the main screen. Do Not be put off by all the buttons as operation is fairly simple. With the screen laid out in sections: SECTIONS: [TOTAL WEEKS IN DATABASE] The two windows show how many WEEKS worth of data has been saved as USER (Your Own Choice Of Numbers) and LOT (Lottery Numbers). Using the selection arrows you can display this data on the screen. Click on the arrow for the database you want to see, click on the up and down arrows for the week to view or click on ALL. Then click on print. Each time you save a new set of USER or LOTTERY numbers the count is incremented. [CLEAR DOWN DATABASE] This will ERASE the selected database so that you can start from scratch. Bear that if you ERASE the USER or LOTTERY database the [STATISTICS] screen will not have sufficient data for an accurate portrayal or your data. Clearing down the LOT database should be used if you think you have saved LOTTERY numbers that were incorrect. Unfortunately you will have to re-enter all the LOTTERY numbers to date if you wish to keep the database up to date. [LINES ENTERED THIS WEEK] Keeps a count of how many lines of USER numbers you have entered either by typing them in, MERGEing them from saved FAVORITE numbers, and / or RANDOMly generating them. [START OVER] This clears all the lines you have entered but not those in the database that you have saved [CURRENT LINE] This shows the line you are entering numbers on. You can go over an earlier line by selecting it using the arrow buttons. [CLEAR] This clears the CURRENT line. [AUTO] With this enabled you will be presented with the next blank line when you have entered a line of numbers. With this disabled you must use the arrow buttons to select the next line to edit / enter numbers on. [RANDOM] This will generate a line of randomly picked numbers and add them to any lines already entered. You will be warned if you try to overwrite a line already entered. [MERGE] Bit tricky this one! I included it as a friend pointed out that some people have certain lines they use each week and it would be a chore to type them in each week. By clicking on [MERGE] any lines that have been saved as [FAVORITE NUMBERS] will be added to any already entered. For example if there were two lines I liked to use each week I would run the program, type in the two lines and click on [FAVORITE NUMBERS] then quit the program. When I next ran the program I could click on [MERGE] and my favorite numbers would be read in. I could then save them as my selection for this week by clicking [WEEKLY NUMBERS] or add to those lines then save them as [WEEKLY NUMBERS]. [PRINT] Prints the USER lines that have been entered this week to the screen. [CLEAR] Clears down the CURRENT USER line displayed. MANUALLY ENTERING NUMBERS: Click on one of the number windows and a RED cursor will appear under that window. Now type the number you wish to enter. REMEMBER that all numbers less that 1O must be preceeded by a O. I.e O1 O5 O9 etc. This rule also applies when entering LOTTERY numbers which are entered in the same manner. The RED cursor will automatically move to the next window when you type a number until it reaches the end of the line where the program will then check that the line is legal. If you have full line of numbers and are only changing one or two of them you can exit by pressing the Return key. You may also move the edit cursor by using the keyboard cursor keys until the window you wish to edit is selected. NB: Whenever you click on a window you will not be allowed out until a legal line is entered. You can always [CLEAR] it afterwards though! [WINNING NUMBERS FOR THIS WEEK] This is where you type in (Using the method above) this weeks winning LOTTERY numbers. Click [SAVE] if you wish to save them to the database. Unfortunately the [CHECK] button is disabled in this version but in the FULL version it checks against USER numbers in memory for winning lines or against the last saved WEEKLY NUMBERS if you have not typed any in the USER window. Remember: If you wish to check the numbers you last saved DO NOT enter any USER numbers in the above windows or the the program will assume you wish to check these! This has been done so that the program can be used to check numbers that you do not wish to save. I.e a friends lines. [PRINTER] This enable all normal output to be sent to the printer as well as the screen. Unfortunately disabled in this version. [NEXT PAGE] This is used when there is more that one screen of information to view. It will flash when you need to click on it. [YES][NO] Some actions will require confirmation to the message displayed by these buttons. Click on the appropriate one. [QUIT] Do you really need to know? [STATISTICS] This button takes you to the STATS screen where you can view historical data and contains the following buttons: [WINNING] Displays LOTTERY numbers saved in the database as a graph of frequency. I.e. The taller the bar the more frequent the number has come up. [WIN+BON] As above but includes the BONUS numbers as well. [BONUS] Displays just the frequency of BONUS numbers. [MY NUMBERS] Displays USER numbers saved in the database as a graph of frequency. [MAGNITUDE] Select this then one of the above to have the data displayed with the number with the highest frequency going from right to left. [PRINT] Sends the current graph information to the printer. Disabled in this version [MAIN MENU] Takes you back to the main screen -------------------------------------------------------------------- Well I think thats about it! I do not think there are any BUGlets but if there are please let me know. As always with these things I have to protect myself so.... No liability will be accepted for Loss of: Money, Hardware, Software, Limbs, Life etc. etc. incurred through the use of this program. BON APPittE Sod It! Good Luck and spare me a thought or better, some money if you get the big one using this program! FACT: My close friend Steve Calkin of Canvey Island won £1,429 the first time he used this program! He still has not paid me for it though. Just because it was a BETA version. Tight Git. NB: I have seen another Lottery Program for the AMIGA where the writer implies that it can PREDICT winning numbers. Please do not be fooled by this as there is NO way the numbers can be predicted. The lottery machine does not know which numbers it has picked in the past and each time IT IS COMPLETLY RANDOM That program is also Shareware. The above win was just pure LUCK Lucky lucky lucky Bar Steward. ORDERING THE FULL VERSION: If you want the FULL version [CHECK] & [PRINTER] enabled. Please send a Postal Order or Cheque for £5.00 Made payable to Derek Dodson, plus your name and address to: Lottery Master Derek Dodson 93 Wentworth Road Southend-on-Sea Essex. SS2 5LF Checks will obviously take longer to process due to the clearing time. But I aim to get all upgrades out within two weeks. Thank You. PS: Did you ever play BALLOONACY by Delboy Dodson? OK OK I'll shut up now...........
