============================== BAHAMAS ============================== The Bahamas consists of an archipelago of 700 islands located in the Atlantic Ocean off the southeast coast of Florida. The largest island is Andros, and the two most populated are Great Bahama and New Providence. Winters in the Bahamas are mild and summers warm. The islands have few natural resources. Tourism, which employs over two-thirds of the work force, is the most important industry. About three million tourists, the great majority from North America, visit the Bahamas each year. Area (Sq.
