============================== UGANDA ============================== Uganda is a landlocked country in east central Africa, and for the most part it is a richly fertile land, well watered, with a kindly climate. The lowlands around Lake Victoria, once forested, have now mostly been cleared for cultivation. Agriculture employs over three-quarters of the labour force, and the main crops grown for subsistence are plantains, cassava and sweet potatoes.
