============================== LESOTHO ============================== Lesotho is a small landlocked kingdom entirely surrounded by South Africa. Snow-capped mountains and treeless uplands, cut by spectacular gorges, cover two-thirds of the country. The climate is pleasant with variable rainfall but frequent snow in the highlands. Due to the mountainous terrain, only one- eighth of the land can be cultivated, and the main crop is maize. Wool, mohair and diamonds are exported, but most foreign exchange comes from money sent home by Lesotho workers in South Africa. Tourism is beginning to flourish. Area (Sq.
