You can create paths in the Detail or Stage Editors. There are 2 kinds of paths: The OPEN path & the CLOSED, or looped, path. The Open path has a definite starting and ending point. An object attached to a Closed Path would travel in a complete loop. For this demonstration, we will work with a Closed path. Like any other object, the path object must be saved to disk. To adjust a path's shape, Edit Path mode must be selected. A path is adjusted by moving or turning axis points to change its shape. The direction of the Y axis is also the direction an object would proceed. Additional curves can be created by using SPLIT SEGMENT to add an axis. Delete Point removes a selected axis point from the path. Make sure you save any changes to the path by selecting SAVE PATH. We will now load an object to use with the path. To assign the object to the path, we must enter the Action Editor. First, set the number of frames for the animation. Use INFO mode to make sure the path and object exist through all frames. Now we can attach the object to the path. Delete the default Position time-line & ADD a new one set for FOLLOW PATH. We will now Align the Camera so that it points towards the path. MAKE will now be used to create an animation preview. PAUSED: Press Space when the animation has completed. Demonstration Completed!
