Pre-defined Texture maps can be applied to objects for different effects. This demo will show you the basic steps for using texture maps. With the object Picked, select Attributes from the Object menu. Up to 4 different Texture maps can be applied to the object's surfaces. A file requester is displayed so you can load a texture from disk. Let's select the Checks texture. This requester displays different options for the selected texture. Not all fields may be needed. See the Texture text files for detailed info. `A PLY TO CHILLDREN uses the Texture on all child objects in a picked group. APPLY TO CHILDREN uses the Texture on all child objects in a picked group. RESTRICT TO SUBGROUP will only use the texture on a defined Subgroup. `TRANSFORM AX eES lets you enter precise values to adjust the texture map. TRANSFORM AXES lets you enter precise values to adjust the texture map. `EDIT AX eES lets you interactively place the texture. EDIT AXES lets you interactively place the texture. The position of the texture axis can change the effect of different textures. The texture will automatically be set in the correct position. So, you can just press the space bar to accept the default settings. DROP is used to remove a texture map from an object. See the Textures.pic to view the effects of the various texture maps.
