A Path is essentially a line object that other objects can be made to follow. The Detail Editor provides two ways to create opened or closed paths: For simple paths, select the Add Open or Add Closed Path functions. While Make or Make Closed Path can be used to create more complex paths. In either case, you will end up with a path object that can be used for: Replicating, Extruding, Or, in the Stage Editor, for a motion path. We will start by explaining the Add Open & Add Closed Path functions. These functions use what is known as Splines, to make smooth curves. For example, when you select Add Open Path, a straight spline path is added. Use Edit Path mode to adjust the shape of the path. `Just move or ro tate the axis on either end of the path. Just move or rotate the axis on either end of the path. `Each axis in the path controls a curve. Fracture lets you add more ax ees. Each axis in the path controls a curve. Fracture lets you add more axes. Add Closed Path simply creates a looped path. The other path functions: Make & Make Closed Path, also use Splines. `However, you must first arrange a series of ax ees to define the shape. However, you must first arrange a series of axes to define the shape. The direction that each Y axis points, defines the path direction `So, by ro tating each axis u can create a path that curves in any direction. So, by rotating each axis you can create a path that curves in any direction. `Once each axis is defined, all of the ax ees must become picked. Once each axis is defined, all of the axes must become picked. The order that you pick each axis defines how the path will proceed. SORT is used to remember the currently picked order. `Selecting MAKE PATH will then turn the individual ax ees into a smooth path. Selecting MAKE PATH will then turn the individual axes into a smooth path. MAKE CLOSED PATH creates a looped path where the end connects to the start. Demonstration Completed!
