`Magnetism lets you move points as if they were being puhld by a magnet. Magnetism lets you move points as if they were being pulled by a magnet. This feature is helpful in creating smooth curves or surface detail. Magnetism works along with DRAG POINTS mode. The Magnetism requester, lets you vary the magnetic effect. Radius of Influence sets the size of the magnetic field around the pointer. Only points that lie within this distance will be affected by magnetism. Remember, the current grid is spaced at twenty units. Minimum Radius & Random Radius work together. They set the minimum distance from the pointer where points are affected. Percent at Radius sets the magnetic strength at the outer radius. This creates a more natural effect, by lowering the magnetic field outwards. There are 3 types of magnetic effects available: CONE, creates a sharp, triangular peak towards the center of magnetism. `Make sure Magnetism is activated. This is indicated in the tytel bar. Make sure Magnetism is activated. This is indicated in the title bar. DOME, creates a blunt or flattened area. BELL, creates a smooth, bell shaped curve. RANDOM RADIUS, works with the magnetic types to create irregular curve shapes. Using magnetism with a plane, is useful for creating hills or mountains. To select the center point of the plane, remember the following 3 steps: 1. Hold the SHIFT key and select the center point from the front view. 2. Continue holding SHIFT, then click & hold the left button in another view. 3. Keeping the left button pressed, release the SHIFT key. Pay attention to the status display as this process is performed.
