The Grow FX, lets you extrude an object, over time, in an animation. This makes an object appear to be growing. In this demonstration, we will create the effect of a growing vine. For this FX, a special object must be prepared in the Detail Editor. We will create a Spline path using ADD OPEN PATH. Adjust the shape of the path to create the extrusion shape for the object. Next we need an object that will extrude, or grow along this path. We will use a simple disk object. The Y axes of the path & the object must be pointing in the same direction. With the path object as the parent, group & save the objects. In the Action Script, we must set the number of frames for the animation. Next, we load the object we created by ADDing it to the animation. Now we will ADD an FX time-line over all the animation frames. This means that the FX will be performed over the entire animation. `These settings let you Ro tate, Scale or Move an object as it is growing. These settings let you Rotate, Scale or Move an object as it is growing. ALIGN Y, forces the growing object to follow the curves of the path. KEEP X, will maintain correct alignment of the object along the path. MIRROR ENDS, makes the end part of the growth a mirror image of the beginning. TIME REVERSED, starts the object at full growth and shrinks it down. Camera Re-Track is used to make sure the camera is aimed at the object. `MAKE can now be used to pre view the animation. MAKE can now be used to preview the animation. PAUSED: Press Space after the animation has been completed. Demonstration Completed!
