1933 - NAZI SEIZURE OF POWER

After becoming the biggest political force in the German Reichstag
(Parliament), and after a series of political manouverings, President
Hindenburg finally asked Adolph Hitler to become Chancellor of Germany.
The Weimar Republic was dead and the Third Reich was established and
lasted until Germany's surrender in May 1945.
