American Indian civilisation of which remains are found in South Mexico
Guatemala and Honduras. Little remains of the early period c.500BC but
of the classic period 325-925 AD there are magnificent remains. Much of
historical value was lost in the Spanish conquest and their full history
remains sketchy.
