INDUS VALLEY CIVILISATION Around 2000BC to 1800 BC, nomadic tribes of early Aryans from the Caucusus region spread out in many directions - one of which was into the Indus Valley area of Northern India where a civilisation flourished for some centuries and the ancient Hindu religion began to develop. Segregation in the form of the caste system also came into being to prevent the admixture of the invaders with the aboriginal Dravidian tribes, traces of this ancient divide still exist today in modern India.
