KING GEORGE VI
1895 - 1936

Second son of George V, he served in the navy in WW1. He was crowned in
1936 after the abdication of his brother Edward VIII. He was endeared to
his people by and exemplary family life, a strong sense of duty and the
personal courage to overcome a speech impediment and ill-health.
