CHARLES ROBERT DARWIN
(1809 - 1882)

British scientist, discoverer of the principle of narural selection. As
naturalist on the voyage to the Southern hemisphere of H.M.S Beagle 1831-36,
he made the first observations that would eventually lead to his theory of
the modification of species.
