GEORGE III
(1738-1820)

King of Great Britain. He succeded his grandfather George II in 1760.He
pursued a very autocratic policy attempting to dominate parliament and also
lost the American Colonies. He was subject throughout his reign to bouts of
lunacy which became permanent in 1811.
