BATTLE OF MARSTON MOOR
Battle fought in the English Civil War on 2nd July 1644, 7 miles west of
York. The Royalists commanded by Prince Rupert and the Duke of Newcastle
were severely defeated by the Roundheads under Cromwell and Lord Leven.
