GREAT FIRE OF LONDON 1666

The Great Fire destroyed much of the crowded and dirty older city and led to
the rebuilding of much of London in stone instead of wood. Much of the work
was carried out under the direction of the famous architect Sir Christopher
Wren, including the rebuilding of St.Paul's Cathedral.
