CHARLES II
(1630-1685)

King of Great Britain and Ireland from 1660. Son of Charles I. he spent his
youth in Europe wandering after his fathers execution but eventually was
invited back and proclaimed king, re-establishing the monarhcy. His reign
was turbulent and much troubled by wars. In his later years he ruled without
parliament.
