HENRY VIII
(1491-1547)
King of England. He succeeded his father Henry VII in 1509. He adopted the
Protestant religion and is famous for having six wives, the last being
Catherine Parr who survived him. He pursued an active foreign policy and
greatly strengthened Britain's navy.
