WARS OF THE ROSES
The civil wars fought between the adherents of the House of Lancaster and the
House of York. Major battles included St,Albans(1455),Towton,Hexham,Barnet
and Tewksbury. Finally at Bosworth, Richard III was killed and Henry Tudor
became Henry VII, ending the wars with a diplomatic marriage to Elizabeth of
York.
