Readme.txt File for CD Player for Windows v 1.0.

INTRODUCTION:

Thank you for choosing CD Player for Windows. CD Player
is distributed in two testware forms:

The first, the larger of the two, contains all files,
including VBRUN100.DLL, and a complete setup program.
This larger file is approximately 314,000 bytes long
in its zipped mode (due to size of VBRUN).

The second, is much smaller as it contains only those
files needed to execute the program and its help file.
The second file assumes that the user has knowledge of
both DOS and Windows, and can easily place the
necessary files where they belog, by following the
   instructions here in this file.

The second file was created primarily to speed up
download transfers for those who had a working knowledge
of their Windows system. This file is approximately
   114,000 bytes long.

If you have downloaded or acquired the condensed version
of the zip, please follow the instructions below for
   installation.

FOR USERS WITH THE SMALL ZIPPED VERSION (5 Files):

We assume that you know enough about directory trees
and structures that you will be able to carry the
   following out,...

If you don't have VBRUN100.DLL, you must acquire it
from either a friend, or a service like Compuserve.
VBRUN100.DLL should be located in your Windows
   directory.

The files included in this zip are:

   CDPLAYER.EXE (Program File)
CDPLAYER.HLP (The CD Player Windows Help File)
   MCI.VBX
   PICCLIP.VBX
   README.TXT (This File!)

   Copy "Picclip.vbx" and "Mci.vbx" to your Windows\System
directory. The other three files, CDPLAYER.EXE,
CDPLAYER.HLP, and README.TXT can be put in any
   subdirectory you like.

That's all there is to it. Just add it to one of your
Program Manager groups, and you're ready to go!

FOR USERS WITH THE LARGE ZIPPED VERSION (11 Files):

This zip file contains all software necessary to do a
regular Windows setup. Unzip the file to a clean
   diskette. This can be either a 3.5 " 720 or 1.44 MB
disk, or a High Density 5.25" Floppy. All necessary
files WILL NOT FIT ON A Double Sided/Double Density
   5.25" diskette.

Or, you can unzip the files to a clean directory on
   your hard disk drive.

The files contained in this zip are:

   SETUP.EXE (Setup program)
   SETUP1.EXE (Support program for Setup)
   SETUPKIT.DL_ (Support file for Setup)
   VBRUN100.DL_ (Runtime Module)
   VER.DL_ (Version Checking Library)
   SETUP.LST (Support File for Setup)
   CDPLAYER.EXE (The Player Program)
   CDPLAYER.HLP (CD Player's Help File)
   MCI.VBX (Necessary DLL)
   PICCLIP.VBX (Necessary DLL)
   README.TXT (This Readme File!)

To install CD Player for Windows, go to the File or
Program Manager, choose the file menu, then the Run
menu option. When the program prompts you for the file
name to run, type in either...

A:\setup (if your setting up from the "A" floppy drive)

B:\setup (if you are installing from a "B" floppy drive)

      or...

(DriveLetter) :\ (DirectoryName) \setup (if you unzipped
      to a hard disk directory.

Then follow the prompts as they come along. Setup will
walk you through the installation, step by step. All
defaults have been set for you, so if you're satisfied
with the choices that are presented, follow the
   instructions in the setup program.

LIMITATIONS:

CD Player, before it's registered, has one restriction.
The program will only allow you to save 4 cataloged
CD's. Of course, this limitation, as well as the start
up screen, will be eliminated upon registration.

Another limitation, purposely inserted, is that ANY
version of CD Player for Windows, regardless of
whether or not it's registered, can only save 20
   selected track for each CD.

REGISTRATION:

You can register the basic program by printing the
registration form from the intro screen, filling it
out, and sending it with your payment of $24.95 for
just the registration, or $42.95 if you want the
complete version with manual per registration (NY
State residents please add sales tax) to:
