Joe Siegler's Publisher98 Baseball Scorecard Template
-----------------------------------------------------

Hello!

If you're looking at this file, then you've downloaded my Baseball
Scorecard template for Publisher 98. I'm a (mini plan) season
ticket holder for the Texas Rangers (along with my wife), and I
got tired of buying a program for $3 every time I wanted to keep
score. I mean really. When you go to several games a year, you
don't NEED the program, as the only things that change are the
rosters (if they're updated anyways), and the last week's news,
which if you have this, you're on the net, and can get it yourself
anyway). So, I sat down with Microsoft's Publisher98 one night,
and created this from scratch (I drew all the lines myself). :)
Anyway, with this, you don't need to spend all the money for the
program anymore. Now you can print one of these out and have them
any time you want to score. Go out and buy a $4 clipboard from
OfficeMax, and you're in business. One recommendation there.
Don't buy a metal one. It might get too hot in the Texas sun in
summer to hold. :)

Couple of notes about the scorecard:

1) I used the scorecard in the Rangers program as a base, so if you
have ever scored with that, you'll be familiar with this.

2) There's a few fields in red. Those are the things that you need
to change, as they change from game to game (opponent team name
in two places), and the date of the game.

3) The field for the player name is a bit smaller than the one in
the Rangers program. I've scored 2 games at the Ballpark in
Arlington with this, and several at home, and it seems a bit
small, especially if they start subbing a lot of players. I
might fix that in the future. Comments?

4) If for some reason you can't use a Publisher98 file, I did see
that the Official Cleveland Indians site has a scorecard on
their site for download in a PDF format. That appears to be
hardcoded (unless you can edit a PDF file) for the Indians,
which is why I made mine really team independant.

Enjoy this, and if you find it of value, and/or modify it for your
own use, please drop me an Email and let me know about it. I'd
love to hear from you, even if you are not a Rangers fan (I'm also
a Phillies fan as well).

Also in here is a Publisher98 document which is the Rangers roster.
After scoring my first game, I found I did miss the roster which
had the players' numbers, so I whipped up one of those too. If
you want to make one for another team, I recommend visiting the
MLB site, as it seems to have the most up to date roster listings
of any of the sites I've visited. Check out a few of my Baseball
links at the bottom of this document.

The most recent update to this will be available on my web site,
so if you found this somewhere, and would like to contact me,
drop by my site. Once you get there, the updates for this file
will be in the "Sports" section of my site.

Thanks!
