I hate to say this is a beta copy.  Only because I don't believe that any software is ever 'bugless'.  We have made it easy on you to help us stomp out bugs.  Just press F8 key from any form.

OES is shareware.  It is only $9.95 for EACH computer for a limited time.  This is an Introductoy price.  I have never seen an OE so Featured filled than this one. I think you will see that the time it will save you time in placing orders, shipping, etc, is certainly worth the price. Please support this on going project. Since this is a new project documentation, and reports is bit 'skimpy'.  If you have a report that would be benefial to everyone please send a Feature Report.  We are working on documentation now.  If you are a registered user we will email a system manual in Microsoft document file type to you.

This version of OES requires the following:

Microsoft Access 97 (Windows 95; 32-bit)
32 Meg Ram
20 Meg Hard Drive Available (Space needed for data)
Recommend Pentium Processor 

I am using this same program with 67,000 items in my catalog.  It takes up a little less than 20M.

There are 2 files.  One is the program itself. The other is the data file.  This makes it easy to upgrade to a new version.  Just over write the program file with the new one.  MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!

OES has been converted to a Microsoft MDE file.  An MDE file type has been compiled.  There is no access to the design feature, or a way to view the source code.

To INSTALL:
1. Unzip the oes.zip
2. Run Install.bat 

The install.bat will make the correct directories and copy all necessary files.

A run-time version will be available in later versions.  The quickest way to load OES is create a shortcut on the desktop.  You may open it after loading Access by File/Open, change file type to MDE. 

If you are familiar with Access then you should feel at home.  By this I mean how to filter a record, save a record, etc.  Later version will be more user friendly.  


There are just a few steps to complete before actually using OES.  Click on Data Processing Menu / Profiles / ...  and complete all of the Menu items.  

The "Company Profile" will print on the Invoices.  There are multiple  Profiles under Company Profile. Hit Page UP / Page Down to change between profiles.


The "Payment Method Profile" is VERY important. Set the percentage charged by your credit card processing center.  This is used to calculate the retail price of every item. To verify this: enter an item on the order screen and note the retail price,  change the payment method on the order screen to something that has a different percentage, and enter the same item again.  You should have 2 different retail prices.

The "State Tax Rate" is also VERY important.  Normally, you charge tax in the state you reside.  And all other state is non-taxable.  Enter the total tax percentage in the state that your business in.  All other should be blank.  This is used to calculate the TOTAL price of the order.  Percentage syntax is .08125 for 8.125%.

The "Computer Profile" will be sent each time you submit a Bug / Feature Report.  This will help us with requirements of OES.  You may change the computer profile at anytime as you upgrade your system.

The "Category Profile" categorizes your accounts.  Example: COMmercial, VENdor, EDUcation, etc.  You may add or delete to fit your need.

The "Departments" are used in the Employee Profile and various other reports and forms.

The "Employee Profile" is very important to the majority of the forms.  There are a few fields that needs to be explained further.

	ID / Time C ID - ID is a unique number that will never be the same.  Time Clock ID is a number that is used for Payroll.  The Time Clock feature uses this.

	In/Out Board - Gives the ability for the employee to use the the In/Out Status function.  This will give anybody information about the whereabouts of the employee.  Whether in a Meeting, Out to Lunch, Gone Home, etc.  This is nice for the receptionist to be able to direct calls.
	
	Administrator - This gives the ability to employee to gain access to various forms. Such as Add an Activity to the Company Activity Calendar.  When this checkbox has been checked a 'Add Activity' button appears in the Activity Calendar form.

	Domain Name - This is User Name or Login Name of the operating system.  There a several forms that uses this field.  Example: Order Screen, RMA, Tech Support, etc.  

	Login Password - This is used to allow an employee to 'punch' a time clock, and various other features.

	Company Issued Items -  This is normally used by an Human Resource personel.  This will keep track of company items that are 'checked out' to the employee.  Such as building keys, cellular phone, pagers, tools, etc.

The "Shipping Carriers" are used while placing orders.  You may add or delete from this list.  The website address will be used in later features in tracking a packages.

The "System Setup" contains parameters needed by OES.  Most of these parameters can't be changed.  Be careful when changing the others.  "Beep Me on Error" is not functional yet.  "Customer Credit Limit" is will display on account "Account Frozen" when the the customers limit has been reached. To turn this feature off, enter $999,999.00.

The "Tech Support" helps categorizes support calls.  This will help technicians learn from other callers.  A search feature will be added later. 



You may send Bugs and Features by email by pressing F8 key from any form.  Press the F8 key on the form that has a bug.  This will send additional information about that form.

The only limitations is maximum number of customers is 10, maximum number of products is 25, can not print a catalog.
