JamTraker (version 1.51)
(C) Jason Boehm 1998

INTRODUCTION
JamTraker is a music collection database I developed for my own personal use using Microsoft Access 97. The program is geared towards the personal music collector and only includes fields that are most important to the personal collector like artist and title information, pictures and reviews of titles.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
To run JamTraker you must have:
1. 32-bit operating system (Windows 95/98/NT)
2. Microsoft Access 97

INSTALLING JAMTRAKER
After extracting the .ZIP file, run the SETUP.EXE file and follow the steps on your screen.

HOW TO USE JAMTRAKER
There is currently no help file for JamTraker but I think you will find the program easy enough to figure out yourself. Here is a brief run down what each section does.

a. WHAT'S NEW: Shows you the last titles entered in the database.
b. SEARCH: Query the database for artist and title information.
c. SHOW ME: Query the database for title listings by Year Released, Format and Ratings. You can also print out the results from this section as well.
d. UPCOMING RELEASES: (For registerd users only!) This section lists the release dates for new Cds coming out.
e. ARTIST/TITLE MAINTENANCE: This is where you enter and modify both artist and title information.

You can also add or modify Ratings, Music Categories and Media Formats by going to the FILE menu.

HISTORY
3/1/98: JamTraker 1.0 is released.
4/6/98: JamTraker 1.5 is released. Changes from version 1.0 include:
- The ability to customize own Ratings
- Add comments to artist photos
- Import feature for Upcoming Release dates
- New SHOW ME section with the ability to query database and generate reports.
5/7/98: JamTraker 1.51 is released. Fixed a bug that caused some users to receive 'AUTOMATION' error messages when starting the program. Also added some minor enhancements to the interface and title information track list.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you receive an "Automation" or "Missing .dll" error message when running JamTraker, then you need to register the Microsoft Common Dialog Control in Microsoft Access 97. You can register the control manually by doing the following:

1. Create a new database or open an existing database like NORTHWIND.MDB (JAMTRAK.MDB will not work here).
2. Select Modules
3. Either open an existing module or create a new module if no modules exist.
4. Go to the TOOLS menubar and select REFERENCES.
5. Click on the BROWSE button.
6. Select file "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\COMDLG32.OCX"
7. Click OK
8. Go to the TOOLS menubar again and select ACTIVE X CONTROLS
9. Select COMMON DIALOG CONTROL, VERSION 5.0
10. Click REGISTER, then CLOSE
ll. Close Access.
12. Restart JamTraker.
