Purpose / Description
=====================

RTSJoust makes editing, annotating and sending a web-based PDF (Portable Document
Format) documents a simple, one-click process.

How-To install RTSJoust
===================

1. RTSJoust has been archived using the ZIP file format. 
You can use PKUNZIP, WINZIP or any ZIP compatible archiving program 
for extraction. Consult the documentation supplied with the relevant 
program for details on how to extract the installation files for RTSJoust.
2. Once the installation files have been extracted, run the setup.exe program.
3. The InstallShield Wizard will initialize and step you through the 
installation of RTSJoust.

Status
======
RTSJoust Evaluation Edition 1.5 is a commercial demonstration of RTSJoust 1.5
This product will expire 30 days after its first use. The fully functional version
may be purchased from the RTS website (http://www.roundtable.com.au)

The evaluation edition may be distributed freely in its original form (This file 
must be included in the archive).

How to use RTS Joust
====================

To use RTSJoust start Acrobat Exchange. RTSJoust adds three 
buttons to the Acrobat Exchange Toolbar [when displayed in a web-browser]. 
The three buttons are as follows;

1. "Send" button
Attaches the open PDF to a new e-mail message.

2. "Save As" button [only visible when Acrobat Exchange is opened 
in an external window ie. Web Browser].
Prompts the user to save the open PDF.

3. "Transfer to Acrobat Exchange" button. [only visible when Acrobat 
Exchange is opened in an external window ie. Web Browser].
Transfer the current PDF from the external window [web browser] to Acrobat Exchange.

"Send" Button
The send button loads the PDF document currently being viewed 
into an email message ready for sending to single or 
multiple recipients. The procedure is as follows. 

1. To send mail using RTS Joust click the "send mail" icon.

2. A dialog box will popup and ask you what name you 
wish to call the file. You will also be asked what page range 
you wish to mail. You can select from "All", the "Current Page", 
or a Pages x to y. Click "OK" when you are finished.

3. This will "compose" a new e-mail message and attach 
the current PDF. Your screen will differ from 
the one below depending upon the email program you use. 

4. Type in your message details and click send.

5. Your PDF has been sent.

#Note that you may also use the Send item on the 
File menu of Acrobat Exchange to perform this action.

"Save As" Button
The Save As button is used to save the current PDF 
document being viewed inside an Internet web browser 
or other embedded PDF viewer application. 
The procedure is as follows.

1. Click on the "Save As" icon to save a copy of the open PDF.
2. You will be prompted with a save as dialog. 
Type the name you wish to call the PDF and press "Save".
3. The open PDF is now saved with the name you specified
 in the Save As dialog box as displayed above.

"Transfer to Acrobat Exchange" Button
The Transfer to Acrobat Exchange button takes 
the PDF document currently being viewed in an Internet web 
browser or other embedded PDF viewer application and loads a 
copy of it into Acrobat Exhange for editing. The procedure is as follows.

1. Click on the "Transfer to Acrobat Exchange" icon. 
2. The web browser will minimize and Acrobat Exchange 
will maximize with a copy of the open PDF displayed.
3. You are now free to modify and attach notes to the document. 
You can even mail the document from Acrobat Exchange by using 
the RTSJoust "send" button.


Troubleshooting
===============

* Your mail application must be Simple MAPI compliant 
(Messaging Application Programming Interface). Microsoft Mail, 
Microsoft Outlook, Lotus CC: Mail, Eudora Mail, Outlook Express.
