************************** FREEWARE (donations excepted) *********************

The Switch IP tool was developed to ease the assignment of IP
associated addresses to network adapters. It was designed for mobile
users that must move from one subnet to another or between
completely different networks.

Switch IP allows you to create, save, and recall IP address
information, associate it with a location, and then select the
location from a list and assign the associated IP addresses to an
adapter.
It also support Windows NT Domain Name settings and Network Identification
settings. The following hardware and software configuration is
currently supported:

	PC with Intel Processor
	Windows 95
	Microsoft TCP/IP Stack Only
	Network adapters using TCP/IP
	Dial-Up networking using TCP/IP

It will not work with any other TCP/IP stacks.
Because of the proprietary nature of some PCMCIA network card TCP/IP bindings,
some adapters like multi-function modem/ethernet adapters may not supported.
(you could try running the CFGSWIP.EXE to make it work with Switch IP)

Installation
  1. Unzip all of the files into a new or existing directory
  2. Run the Setup.exe program
  3. Enter the directory where you want Switch IP installed
  4. Select the Start menu group where you want the shortcut icons installed
  5. If you want Start Menu or Desktop icons, select the appropriate checkbox
  6. Click on the 'OK' button

That's it. It's FREEWARE so I only wrote a basic install and uninstall routine, sorry.

Starting Switch IP
Click (or double click) on the Switch IP icon. From the Switch IP Tools buttons
  select the 'Switch IP' button.

Starting Switch IP Domains
Double click on the Switch IP Domains icon. From the Switch IP Tools buttons
  select the 'Domains' button.

Starting Switch IP Network Identification
Double click on the Switch IP Network Identification icon. From the Switch IP
Tools buttons select the 'Network IDs' button.

To Remove Switch IP from your system
  1. Click on the 'Remove Switch IP' icon
  2. Select the 'Remove' button

As a precaution, BACK UP YOUR SYSTEM.DAT and USER.DAT files before
using this program. This is a prototype (at best) and you use it at
your own risk. Although it reads and writes the Win95 System Registry,
it will not cause your PC to crash or become dysfunctional. It
only writes TCPIP entries into the registry, so if your
access to a network is affected, you can fix it manually through the
Network Neighborhood Properties.

 Switch IP(TM)

 All rights reserved.

This was going to be based on the Shareware principle but I have other things
to do than do software support so SwitchIP is FREEWARE!. I will however make upgrades
and enhancements available as I come across a need for them.

The license below is for shareware but includes the standard discalimers.

 SOFTWARE LICENSE

Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use
SwitchIP on a 30-day trial basis for the purpose of
determining whether SwitchIP is suitable for their
needs. The use of SwitchIP, except for the initial
30-day trial, requires registration. The use of
unlicensed copies of SwitchIP, outside of the initial
30-day trial, by any person, business, corporation,
government agency or any other entity is strictly
 prohibited.

A license for personal use may be purchased that grants
the user the right to use SwitchIP on one or more
computers. A commercial license requires sufficient
licensing equal to the number of users, or the quantity
of workstations that access the software, whichever is
 smaller.

No one may modify or patch the SwitchIP executable files
in any way, including but not limited to decompiling,
disassembling, or otherwise reverse engineering the
 programs.

A limited license is granted to copy and distribute
SwitchIP only for the trial use of others, subject
to the above limitations, and also the following:

  1) SwitchIP and all of its release files must be
copied in unmodified form, complete with the file
        containing this license information.

  2) No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested
or accepted, except as authorized below:

        A) Operators of electronic bulletin board systems
(sysops) may make SwitchIP available for down-
loading only as long as the above conditions are
met. An overall or time-dependent charge for the
use of the bulletin board system is permitted as
long as there is not a specific charge for the
           download of SwitchIP.

        B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware software
approved by the ASP may distribute SwitchIP,
subject to the above conditions, without specific
           permission. Non-approved vendors may distribute
           SwitchIP only after obtaining written
permission from the author, Michael S. Andrews.
Such permission is usually granted. Please write
	   for details (enclose your catalog).

        C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of
Switch IP to their members, subject to the above
	   conditions, without specific permission.
Non-profit groups may collect a disk duplication
fee not to exceed three dollars.
