How to use the "Logo Files"

The file LOGO.SYS resides in the root directory of the
boot drive, Windows 95 loads it as the animated logo bitmap.
To install your own animated logo you must do the following:

1. Go to the root directory of your C: drive and rename
   the file Logo.sys to Logo.old.

2. Chose one of the animated logos (they are the ones that
start with the letter "S") and rename it to Logo.sys.

3. Copy this new Logo.sys file to the root directory of your
   C: drive.

4. Reboot your system and upon startup you will see the new
   animated startup logo.

(If you want to go back to the dull Win95 clouds thing just
reverse the process!)

Note that the two screens that Windows 95 displays at
shutdown are also 320x400 bitmaps. The one that asks you to
wait while Windows 95 shuts down is LOGOW.SYS; the one that
informs you it's now safe to shut the computer off is LOGOS.SYS.

I have also included some shutdown screens with this collection.
(They are the files that start with the letter "E")

To use these files all you must do is the following:

The file LOGOS.SYS resides in the Windows 95 directory.
Windows 95 loads it as the shutdown logo bitmap.

1. Go to the Windows 95 directory of your C: drive and rename
   the file Logos.sys to Logos.old.

2. Chose one of the shutdown logos (they are the ones that
start with the letter "E") and rename it to Logos.sys.

3. Copy this new Logos.sys file to the Windows 95 directory of
   your C: drive.

4. The next time you shutdown your system you will see the new
   shutdown logo.

(If you want to go back to the dull Win95 thing just
reverse the process!)
