ActiveMovie Screen Saver
(c) 1998 Mansfield Wong

PREAMBLE:

Play videos full-screen as your screen saver! Scans
your CDROM for any video files... try your favorite
AVCD, Enhanced CD, VideoCD, and even your encyclopedia!

SYSTEM REQUIRMENTS:

Requires Windows95 and ActiveMovie version 2.0 or
above. QuickTime may also be needed to play QuickTime
movies (not too sure). Should work on Windows NT but
is not tested there - good luck :)

INSTALLATION:

Unzip the .SCR file into your WINDOWS directory. Right
click on the desktop, then choose Properties.

Go to the screen saver tab and choose ActiveMovie Screen
Saver. Click Settings button.

SETTINGS:

ActiveMovie files: Leave alone unless you want to add
.WAV or .MID files to it (but what's the point?) If you
mess it up then click on the Default button to restore
factory settings :)

File Scanning: Choose your CDROM drive to let the
screen saver look for video files in your CD-ROM. Very
important if you want to play VideoCDs

Play List: Lets you choose a set of files to play from
your hard disk. Type in the full path and filename on
the top text box, and if the file exists the Add button
will be enabled. Use Browse to look for a file, or
Search to scan your hard drive for files. Do not add
any files from your CDROM to your Play List.

KNOWN PROBLEMS:

ActiveMovie takes over the mouse somehow, you must press
a key on the keyboard to disengage.

All the caveats and problems your computer may have with
ActiveMovie will be here too :( Specifically, the screen
saver uses ActiveMovie's "Run at full-screen" mode. If
you have any problems with playing back files in Active
Movie then I suggest contacting Microsoft tech support!

If the CDROM drive is empty when you enter the settings
screen, the Scan Drive will be reset to C: (your hard
disk)

Windows 95 OSR2 have trouble reading some AVCD's or
Enhanced CD's. Get an older version of SCSI1HLP.VXD
(version 4.00.950) to solve this problem.

"Object does not support this method" type errors - try
updating ActiveMovie (I think it's now in a package
called DirectShow?)
